Cleveland Tour Action 588 — Used Value & Resale Guide

Introduced in 1988, the Cleveland Tour Action 588 became one of the defining wedge designs of its era and remained relevant for decades. TCV tracks completed private-market sales of the original Tour Action 588 to show what these classic wedges are worth today.

About the Cleveland Tour Action 588

Cleveland introduced the Tour Action 588 in 1988 as its fifth-generation wedge design. The original lineup included 50°, 56°, and 60° lofts. In 1990, Cleveland changed the 50° to 49° and added the 53° DIADIC as a gap-filling wedge.

Cleveland expanded the Tour Action 588's loft and finish lineup over an unusually long production life. The design became closely associated with the company's reputation for traditional wedge shaping and turf interaction, and Cleveland's own historical material describes the 588 as one of its enduring signature designs. Later 588 DSG, Forged, and RTX products are separate models, not continuations of this exact TCV identity.
