About the Titleist Vokey SM9

The Titleist Vokey SM9 was introduced in 2022 between the SM8 and SM10 generations. One of the defining changes in SM9 was a further shift of Vokey's forward center of gravity higher in the head, using additional topline mass and a tapered weight pad toward the toe to position the CG without changing the address shape dramatically.

That progression is especially relevant in the higher-lofted heads. SM9 uses progressive hosel lengths to help raise the center of gravity in lofts such as 58° and 60°, making the 60° configuration particularly useful for a generation-to-generation comparison with SM10, SM8, and SM7.

SM9 also introduced a new Spin Milled groove-cutting process with groove geometry tailored by loft. The 56°–62° heads use a wider, shallower groove geometry than the stronger-lofted wedges, so a 60° SM9 is not simply the same head design with additional loft.
